Subject: NHS stadium
lights
You
may have already seen this but those of us who are still
active in the NHS Alumni Association are passing it on. Thanks!
The lights have gone out at
was blown out during a storm, the
lighting
system was
donated twenty years ago, and
has never been maintained by the District. Since the District is
experiencing
serious financial issues, we, a group of concerned parents, alumni
and
coaches, have taken on the
monumental task of raising the necessary funds to
remedy this situation.
We are in the process of
securing information regarding our
options for repair or replacement of the lighting system.
Ideally, we would love to install a brand new
system; however, with time of the essence, we may have to come up with
a
temporary fix for the upcoming seasons.
Information gathered thus far indicates that a repair can be
accomplished
for $69,000.00, while a new system would cost approximately
$185,000.000.

in football, soccer, lacrosse, and cheerleading. Our
band is
also showcased during their
performances at the stadium.
There have been two articles
published about our situation. One was
published in the News Journal, on
6/29/07 and the
other was published in the Newark Post, on 7/6/07. Both can be
accessed online. I think you will find
them very informative.
