I work for the Prince George’s County, Maryland Government as a project manager for storm
drain projects. I have been married to Mary for 17 years and
dealing with her Lyme disease and MS. The one masked the
other and the treatment for one kicks the other into high gear.
Our daughter Kiri is eight years old and doing very well. She
wants to be a zoo keeper when she grows up. We live just to the
east of Washington, DC.
I would also like to expand the story to
which I am apparently most noted.
Back at Central Middle School, a new fellow showed up in our class, the
son of a military instructor stationed at the U of D. I believe
his name was George Purree' and my attempts to be helpful and make him
feel welcome just irritated him to no end.
He decided to teach me a lesson so he met me at the bike rack after
school to deliver the lesson. I was not inclined to get into a fight
and told him so, but he started hitting me.
I refused to respond until the beast inside me exploded and he was on
the ground with a shiner that lasted a week. My lesson from this
was that if push came to shove, I could hold my own, but there are
dangerous areas within me that I need to be aware of and
control when threatened or angered.
We live just to the east of Washington,

Mike: I was born and raised in Newark but
my family moved to
Tallahassee, Florida the summer before my senior year (August 1970), so
I didn't graduate at Newark High. But I did return to see
all my
friends graduate in June of 1971; it was amazing how the school had
changed, and how a lot of people had forgotten. But I stayed in touch
with John Squier for a while; After getting married in June of 1980, we
came by Newark on our honeymoon and saw John, Willie Early, Mark Powell
and a few others. When the Philadelphia Eagles played in the
Superbowl
in New Orleans (January/February 1981), the same guys came by Auburn
University (Alabama) where I was going to grad school in
Fisheries.
That is the last I have heard from anyone up there. I have gotten
in
touch with Allan Bailey a few times over the past 30+ years.
Allan
lives in Lakeland/Winter Haven area; he graduated the same year. If you
want to email me, my address is aes_sh@msn.com.

luck. Marty (Reported:

Howdy y’all! Greetings from SC to
the best of the best of the 70s!
I don’t trust cyberspace enough yet to “float” my bio out there, so
here’s
brief update. My soul mate and I will celebrate 28 years of
marriage this
year (and they said it wouldn’t last! HA!) He’s still
hanging in
there at the every-changing DuPont Company. Our autistic son
graduated
summa cum laude form USC this past December. (Yes, God is still
in the
miracle business!) After much prayer his story has a “happy
ending.” Our “baby” is headed to Charleston
for Dental school. The jury is till out, though, he could still
become a
preacher or actor. I’ll miss the party. Have fun! God
bless

I
continue to work at Southwest Missouri State University. I recently changed jobs at the University
and am now Director of the School of Teacher Education, engaging in
administrative duties rather than teaching. In 1998 I was
diagnosed with MS – shocking – but I have been fairly “lucky”.
I am in ongoing treatment. I became a volunteer
with the MS Society & worked at the 1998 MS 150 Bike Tour which is
a nationwide
effort to raise funds for research and treatment. Participants ride 150
miles over two days. It has been 30 years since I was on a bike, so I
consider it quite an accomplishment. (Posted:

I am
residing in Severna Park, Maryland which is located
outside of Annapolis
with my wife Carol and our children. We
have lived here for 13 years, with much of that time, it seems, being
spent
renovating our house to keep up with the family needs. During the
recent years we have found
ourselves concentrating much of our time and efforts o the children's
sports
lives, recreational activities, and academic pursuits.
Carol works as an emergency department nurse
at the Baltimore
Washington Medical Center
in Glen Burnie, recently completing an assignment at Johns Hopkins
Hospital.
Our oldest child, Gabe, is 24 and has
graduated from the Savannah College of Art and Design with a degree in
architecture. He is working for Whiting-Turner
Construction Company in Baltimore,
but is spending the majority of his time at job sites in the
Northeast.
Kellen, 21, is a student at the University of Baltimore, pursuing a degree
in
business.
Melissa, our youngest at 16,
is a junior at Severna Park High
School, where she is
keeping busy with soccer and lacrosse.
In 2004 I left the architectural firm in Baltimore where I had been an
associate for
the previous 20 years and started my own design firm.
Currently I am focusing on residential design
throughout the Maryland
region. I
am also involved as a
volunteer with the Annapolis
affiliate of Habitat for Humanity where I have served on the Board of
Directors
and several working committees, along with providing architectural
design and
construction services. Through
involvement with our church in Annapolis, I have
participated in mission activities, including several trips to the Czech Republic.

[The
following was provided by the runion committee] For those of you
don't bowl or who haven't visited the Blue Hen Lanes recently, an
article on September 2, 2005 announced the unveiling of its most recent
rennovation. What has not changed is the presence of a large portion of
the Kepple family which keeps the Lanes closely tied to the Newark
Community. Julie Keppel runs the social events, Keith Beaudean makes
sure that everything moves smoothly, John Blankenhorn and Nancy McElwee
guard the lounge from minors and pour beer for the 21-plus crowd. If
you are lucky, during your visit, you may spot some of Newark's better
known personalities, George Thorogood [Delware Destroyers] or Edgar

from the old lanes which is mounted and inscribed in multiple shades by
many other bowlers in the local leagues. Gordon

Krapf - DECEASED June
1999, colon cancer
The Krapf family entered into the construction industry
sometime during the First World War. Fredrick G. Krapf Sr.
started a small family business with the motto “Krapf Can Do It”.
The company grew steadily and was eventually passed on to Fredrick G.
Krapf Jr. who built the family business into a thriving commercial
entity based in Wilmington, Delaware.
During the late 1960s and early 1970s Fred Jr’s sons all
became involved in the family business. Tommy, Jimmy, and Mickey
all worked in various aspects of the ever growing business. The
Krapf conglomerate continued to undertake large commercial projects and
development projects throughout the eastern United States.
Another important thing started to happen in the 1980s, as
the fourth generation of the Krapf family started to be indoctrinated
into the construction industry in the same trial by fire method
pioneered by the patriarch of the family. Tom Jr, Jake, Ben, and
Freddy all started out digging ditches and doing various other
backbreaking tasks. Eventually after the dues were paid on each
step of the way the boys graduated to become carpenters,
superintendents, and estimators.
Sadly
tragedy struck the Krapf family in 1998 with the sudden passing of Fred
Krapf Jr. The ruling patriarch, entrepreneurial spirit, and the
man named as one of the top ten businessmen on the East Coast was
gone. Fred’s sons continued to carry on as they had been taught,
but the following year tragedy struck the Krapf family for the second
time, when Tom Krapf Sr. was stricken with cancer and died only months
after his initial diagnosis. The combined loss of Tom and his
father the year before proved to be too much, even for a business that
had survived for over eight decades. Krapfcandoit and its
subsidiaries closed their doors in 2000.
http://www.krapfhomes.com/history.htm
Tom was 47 and a
lifetime resident of Newark. He graduated from Newark High School in
1971, where he
played football and ran track. In 1971, he began working as a laborer
with his family business, Krapfcandoit and became president of Can-Do
Construction and Coordinator of Krapfcandoit safety regulation.
He
was
a partner in MJT Partners and J and T Partners. Tom was instrumental in
the development and construction of numerous well-known community
facilities such as, Christiana Towers at the University of Delaware,
Luther Towers II, III and IV, the Delmarva Power Data Center, Dover
Downs Expansion and Bancroft Place.
Tom
helped coach football with The
Crusaders of the Capitol Trail Football League in the 70's. He attended
Zion Lutheran Church and became a member of St. Philips Lutheran Church
in 1980 where he served as Property Committee Chairperson.
Tom enjoyed boating,
golf, fishing and spending time with family and
friends. He was a licensed helicopter pilot who loved life and people.
He was a past board member of the Police Advisory Board, City of
Wilmington, Associated Builders and Contractors board member and
Treasurer for the Legislation Committee of ABC, was a past board member
of the YMCA, and served on the Board of Hilltop Lutheran Neighborhood
Center, where he was construction committee chairperson twice.
He is survived by his
wife of 24 years, Sally Pinto Krapf; 2 sons,
Thomas B., Jr. and John W. both of Newark; 2 brothers, Frederic G. III
of Wilmington and James P., Sr. of Newark; his mother, June B. Krapf of
Wilmington and maternal grandmother Freda M. Bittle of Wilmington; 6
nephews and 4 nieces. (Googled

I just celebrated my 10th

I was recently

After I picked myself up off the floor from laughter I explained my

is so broad, only the high level pieces are doled out in my
absence. Since then I have acquired an “Administrative

toddler size 4 in clothing
– 3 ft.
stuffed monkey. He has a vest in the
company color complete with a logo pin.
We are getting a lot of mileage out of him, especially since he sits at
the door to greet guests.
Both my
children have completed their second college degree (at their own
expense this
time) - my daughter (30) is an RN and has provided me with two
grandsons aged 1
and 3 years. My son (29) is climbing by
leaps and bounds in the IT world (contracting for Campbell Soup) while
continually on the lookout for a suitable wife.
My 5 year old 70 lb. black lab is my daily walking partner (great
stress
reliever) and also makes sure that I stay an early riser – she
alternates
between a 4 AM and 5:30 AM wakeup call daily! CONTACT 1125

My
mom is now a widow
and
still living in Newark. My two
brothers are doing well and also live
in Newark. My sister is
a widow and living in Maine with her two
children. My husband and I just
celebrated our 22nd wedding anniversary.
Our only child Jeanette is single and works
for us as a Photographer/Trainer covering the north Florida
and Atlanta
area. HomeScenes.com is our third
company. I have been co-owner of a small
real estate company in Atlanta
for about 15 years. About 10 years ago
my husband and I launched HomeScenes.com a web site that helps home
buyers shop
for homes for sale or for rent plus vacation properties on the
Internet.
Our complete virtual tours are awesome with
30 plus pictures (still and/or moving images).
Hundreds of real estate agents from many different companies in the Atlanta area, North Florida
and Tennessee, etc. choose
HomeScenes.com
Virtual Tours to advertise their listings for sale. We would like
to expand our virtual tour
services up north – marketing reps and photographers will be
needed.

would be interested, please have them contact me. CONTACT: 633 Granby Hill Pl.,Alphretta, GA 30202-6811 Corporate@homescenes.com (Posted

I am a recruiter (human relations executive) for the Newark
based W.L. Gore Associates. We have been
named for the ninth straight time as one of the best 100 places to work
in the U.S.
This year we made it to #5. He is featured in the December, 2006,
edition
of Delaware Today magazine. CONTACT 30
Morgan Hollow Rd., Landenberg,
PA 19350
We Googled Steve and found, ". . . It’s
a given that people will want to work for you when your company shows
up near the top of such lists year after year. Still, Selway admits
that he occasionally has to do some educating about how great Delaware
is when folks from outside the region know us mainly as, um—well, they
know us as something, surely. . .“I
mention the lack of sales tax. That really catches a lot of people by
surprise, and it’s always a pleasant surprise,” he says. “Secondly, I
like to talk about the diversity of places to live.”
That
diversity, he says, can be a huge attraction for prospective employees
who often know little to nothing about the many facets of the Diamond
State. Much of New Castle County has a suburban feel that draws many,
while opportunities for city living still exist in Wilmington. .
. .
Selway
also emphasizes Delaware’s progressive attitudes, strong communities
and good schools. With everything the state has to offer, Selway
reports excellent results. “I don’t think I’ve ever had anyone come to
look at a job and turn me down for the area. . .” (Googled

[The
following is provided by the reunion committee] In 1992 on hole
13 of the Moccasin Run Golf Course in southeastern Pennsylvania Jon
Townley lost the use of his right eye when he was stuck by a golf ball.
Unfortunately, the injury could not be repaired. However, Jon has
learned to do
just about everything he did before including playing golf and the
injury has also motivated him to reach out to others. In June of 2005
the 11th annual "One Eye
Golf Tournament" was held at the Three Little Bakers Golf Course in
Pike Creek. This is a benifit which he organizes each year and golfers
wear a patch over their right eye and sponsors contribute money for
each hole played.
Each year the even
donates its proceeds to such organizations as the Burn Foundation of
Philadelphia. Jon has also
worked with individuals who have suffered loss of vision to help them
learn to cope with their loss and learn the little techniques necessary
to manage life without full sight. For those things that
remain difficult to do without his own depth perception, Jon relies on
Peggy
Townley who now, in addition to being his wife and longtime sweetheart,
is his new right eye.

[The following is a
brief explanation of Rolfing by the web master] Rolfing is a form of
massage therapy developed in the 1950s by biochemist Ida P. Rolf. In
Rolfing, the therapist focuses on the connective tissue rather than on
the muscle tissue which is what most massage therapists manipulate. The
deep connective tissue is thought to retain a memory of past injuries
and also suffer missalignment due to the constant pull of gravity or
physical trauma. It is believed that the massage of this connective
tissue, or fascia, can bring about psychological improvements. Rolfers
believe that this massage can bring about a general improvement in well
being and even reverse some degenerative nurological conditions.
Certified Rolfers are trained at the Rolf Institute of Structural
Integration in Boulder, Colorado. There are presently over 1350
certified Rolfers in 26 countries. For more information visit www.rolf.org
